First aid certification is required for all community care facility personnel. CCES is authorized by the American Red Cross to deliver first aid classes, teaching individuals the skills necessary to prevent, recognize and provide basic care for illnesses and sudden injuries until advanced medical personnel can take over.

Conducted in a classroom setting, this 4-hour class includes a lecture, video presentation and hands-on training. Students will learn how to:
– Recognize emergencies.
– Protect oneself.
– Prioritize care for sudden illnesses.
– Care for muscle, bone and joint injuries,
heat and cold emergencies, and minor wounds.

Each student must pass a written examination before receiving an American Red Cross certificate. Certificates are valid for three years.

CPR training is available upon request.
